The Curious Case of Asaduddin Owaisi

Kingshuk Nag once wrote why Owaisi is gaining popularity. He rewinds the Gujarat days: the more the secularists would find fault with Modi the more popular he would become among his core constituency of Gujarati Hindus. The same thing is happening in the case of Owaisi.

Asaduddin Owaisi (Photo Source: AIMIM Website)

He was born in Hyderabad on 13 May 1969 and reached to the president of AIMIM. He has been elected as the Member of Parliament for four times representing the Hyderabad constituency in Lok Sabha. He is not the sole politician in his family, but his father and brother are also active politicians. He always catches the central screen of mass media due to his politics primarily centered on Muslim and Dalit.

AIMIM has been leading in an area where Muslims are in majority that’s why the party has held the Lok Sabha seat for the Hyderabad constituency since 1984. In the 2014 Telangana legislative assembly election, the AIMIM won seven seats and received recognition as a state party. In the same year, the party also won two seats in Maharashtra assembly election and one seat in 2019 assembly election. Owaisi’s party has won five seats in 2020 Bihar assembly election, and so called liberal circle starts murmuring over his participation in the WB assembly election regarding that he and his party are benefitting to BJP and Sangh Pariwar.

On this question, many in the liberal circle are disquiet on Owaisi’s rise in national politics and how he is cutting the Congress-Mahagathabandhan vote share and directly benefitting the Sangh Parivar. But, it is not true as per the BBC article that embarks the reason behind Owaisi’s party victory in the Seemanchal area of Bihar.

Seemanchal area includes 24 seats and more than half seats have Muslim majority of votes. BBC Hindi in his report portrayed that Muslim voters desire his own identity. They do not want to be seen as vote bank defeating BJP. Bridges have broken here. Candidates who have been winning in the name of secularism do not have interests in developmental works. The AIMIM did not split the votes. The party contested here only 20 seats where more than half seats have Muslim majority of votes but won only five seats despite that the party did not have many votes on other seats.

Javeed Alam declares in his book ‘who wants democracy’ Muslims as a joker in the democratic pack. A joker owes importance, interest for everyone, but only some people care about their needs. He alleges that parties like Congress and others used only the utility of their vote bank without giving the strata of development. That’s why Owaisi’s party AIMIM enters election battleground where Muslims in the majority.

His political ideology extracts his personality as when the Left denied support to UPA during 2008 US-India nuclear deal, Owaisi supported to prevent the opposition right-wing BJP.

It was a clue and the latest trend indicates that the AIMIM and Owaisi like the politics of religion, identity, and in many commentators’ opinion polarization as BJP do. That’s why where Owaisi’s party takes part in the election, BJP and AIMIM automatically gain advantages in respect to other parties because the developmental issues are not so driving factor to change the voting behaviour of the masses.

Commentators compare Owaisi to Jinnah, but he has been opposing Jinnah’s two-nation theory every time. He sticks to his agendas that Muslims must develop their political force similar to OBCs, Dalits and Yadavs. He supports reservation for backwards Muslims and maintains a clear stand that he is against Hindutva ideology but not against Hindus.

More appreciating he argues for the abolition of the Haj subsidy and criticizes ISIS as a problem among Muslims and called them dogs of hell. There are so many that show him dissimilar to his contemporary Muslim leaders. That’s why he has been rewarded as Sansad Ratna Award for asking 1080 questions in the parliament compared to the national average of 292 in 2014.

In public life, there are a few leaders who have fewer controversies, but Owaisi is not a member of this club. He and controversies have been going hand-in-hand. Multiple cases have been registered due to hate speech. Owaisi was booked for charges related to manhandling the Medak district collector in 2005. In 2009, a case was registered against Owaisi for chasing and beating up a polling agent in the Moghalpura area. He denied saying the slogan Bharat Mata Ki Jai that gained more controversy in 2016.

In Nizam Pasha’s Opinion: the sad reality of this country is that despite being a London-educated barrister and experienced politician having the right politics and speaking the language only of nationalism and inclusion, Owaisi can never come to represent Indians at large. That’s all.

The Old Man and The Sea: hope takes over unlucky moment ultimately

Book/Film Review- 2

The old man and the sea

By- Ernest Hemingway

Maple Press, Rs. 75

“Every day is a new day. It is better to be lucky. But I would rather be exact. Then when luck comes you are ready.”

This novel- ‘the old man and the sea’ has proved itself to be one of the enduring works of American literature and it has got popularity as Hemingway’s last major work that tells a story about friendship, care, respect and survival.

The novel cover (Picture by R. Suresh Bhardwaj)

One who has been a student of English literature will be familiar with Ernest Hemingway who is a well-known American writer and journalist. He was an excellent story-teller and majority of his works revolved around the theme of loss, violence and death caused by the First World War that led to the futility of human existence.

In the ‘The old man and the sea’ he narrates the story of an old fisherman, Santiago, whose long struggle isn’t over one fish, but with the act of living-fully, actively and robustly.

Story starts with the continuous failure of eighty-four days without taking a fish. In the first forty days a boy has been with him. But after forty days without a fish the boy’s parents has told him that the old man is definitely and finally salao, which is the worst form of unlucky, and the boy has gone at their orders at an another boat which caught three gold fish the first week.

Story grows up with—has old age robbed him of his once great skill? Or is he just having bad luck? And so many like will his scarred hands ever again pull in a prized catch?

Hemingway’s novel shows how the life and death gives big lessons to man during his depressing struggle. When the old man was watching the sea with the hope of getting a single fish, he wanted to sleep and eat. He held onto the rope as though his life depends on it. In this scene of struggle, Hemingway shows the masculinity of a simple man in a simple habitat. He demonstrates how heroism is possible in even the most seemingly humdrum circumstances.

Animal Farm: A portrayal of how high ideas turn in dictatorship

Book/Film Review- 1

Animal Farm

By- George Orwell

Amazing Publication, Rs. 125

‘All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others’ unfolds a great satire on the idealism that how highly principles-based newly independent manor farm turned into a dictatorship of heartless animal elite.

The novel cover (Picture by R. Suresh Bhardwaj)

The novel starts with the defeat of Mr. Jones, the master of Manor farm, when the oppressed animals take over the farm and the devious and stone-hearted elites among animals take control of the farm.

Many believe that this novel remained unpublished due to its savage attack on Stalin, ruler of USSR, Britain’s then ally, and got turned down by publisher after publisher—today it’s known to be one of Orwell’s best works, that is why Malcolm Bradbury once said that remains our great satire of the darker face of modern history.

Ideas for Rebelling

Before getting independence, the novel elaborates never-lasting sets of the line as man is the only creature that consumes without producing. It is the foundation for rebellion. As it always happens, affirmative action takes place in view of dissimilar characteristics of animals that every animal will work according to his capacity.

The story grows up and ends with all men are enemies and all animals are comrades. Animal comrades start uniting and it is declared that all the habits of men are evil. No animal must ever kill any other animal. All animals are equal.

This is the motivation for all that animals can go beyond their limits. It happened after the carving of seven commandments on the wall that embarked the real face of idealism, and rebellion took place.

 The Seven Commandments

 1. Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.

 2. whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.

 3. No animal shall wear clothes.

 4. No animal shall sleep in a bed.

 5. No animal shall drink alcohol.

 6. No animal shall kill any other animal.

 7. All animals are equal.

It reveals the secret of how even all animals believed in the seven commandments and worked like slaves for good fortune, but the elite gets benefits at all.

Conservation in Novel, “If this rebellion is to happen anyway, what difference does it make, whether we work for it or not?” and the pigs, the cleverest one in animals, had great difficulty.

Novel ends with…

Animals remember now a day that no creature called any other creature ‘master’. All animals were equal.

But, at a moment, all animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others.

He satirically concludes Animal Farm-Twelve voices were shouting in anger, and they were all alike. No question, now, what had happened to the faces of the pigs, the cleverest animal in the farm? The creatures outside looked from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was possible to say, which was which.

Reforms connected with the land

The latest one is neither the last nor the first movement connected with the land in India as a primarily agricultural society. The uprising of peasant movement against new farm laws in states of Punjab and other may be categorized as ‘The Rich Farmer Movement’ as per the prominent political scientist Sudha Pai’s categorization based on the fivefold criteria—the pattern of land ownership, state policies, technology-based change, the pattern of mobilization, and the leadership.

The rich farmer movement at a glance

Its origin can be traced in the 1960s Green Revolution that resulted in the commercialization of agriculture and class differentiation. Those years have been a witness of how the rich farmer organizations acted as pressure groups upon the state and demanded policies beneficial to them.

Then, Congress in rule decided to follow a different path to industrialization: make agriculture production through investment in technology and this initiative divided the agricultural regime as rural vs. urban and west vs. east because the benefits of the Green Revolution were not evenly distributed.

The same has also happened in the early 90s when the structural adjustment program (SAP) leading to the globalization of Indian economy and the farmer movements entered in new phase market-oriented policies rather attract marginal/small farmers to mobilize against the state, but the rich farmer movements have been frequent for many years when these farmers think that governmental policies may go against their interests.

Economic liberalization did not allow new agricultural policy, but it was BJP-led NDA coalition government which announced National agricultural Policy in 2000. Its main objective was to make agriculture an industry. Then, Congress-led UPA came to power in 2004. The farmer movements rose and slept timely on the issue of farmers’ suicides. In 2014, Modi claimed Delhi as BJP secured a full majority in the lower house, and the central government aiming at doubling farmers’ income till 2022. Following his goals, the government made many initiatives and the prominent last one is—New Farm Laws.

Peasant movement and New Farm Laws

Three bills have been passed in the parliament and got the president’s assent in September that dealt the ever-growing question of agricultural reform, but attracted the protest by the section of rich farmers from the state of Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh.

The government got the motivation for these bills from the standing committee on agriculture (2018-19) and a high-powered seven chief ministerial group set up in 2019 that have recommended for the changes in the related acts and nodded for new acts.

These new three acts contain different provisions that can be summarized in allowing intra-state and inter-state trade of farmers’ produce beyond APMC markets without State governments’ levy and cess, contract farming and regulating the supply of certain food items by the central government.

These provisions will certainly harass the interests of middle man, politics involved in APMC markets and levy on agriculture collected by the states.

The latest farmer movement’s demand like saving MSP and others may be an excuse for restoring the said one. That is why All India Kisan Coordination Committee (AIKCC) from Tamil Nadu and Shetkari Sangahatana like organisations support the government’s move in these words—we have been agitating for the last 30 years for an open market and liberal system—we have got it.

In Conclusion

As soon as possible, the government should go ahead with these charming provisions and provide a short help for marginal and small farmers that have been excluded from the market since the period of the green revolution and then economic liberalisation of the 90s.

The call of hope

In 2016, he was 23 years old. An addicted brother, late father and the private job doer mother, that’s all in his life.

An established thought explains- a complete family is the gift of God, but a limited family of two instead of even a nuclear family is like a curse for everyone as him. No one wants to go in this no calling situation but, unfortunately, he was unwillingly enjoying this crucial infancy moment.

His name was Shan Gupta and was from the mysterious land of Bihar where all developmental indicators touch the bottom. But people of this state can be found anywhere in any field with reputable identity. Numbers show the Bihari’s stance of journalism, bureaucracy, politics, film making, acting and engineering get top priority.

A little dark complexion, approx 170cm height, unexercised posture and fatty shape is enough to distinguish him as a devoted chap to his long-awaited dream. The question ‘How long his dream was?’ is debatable then and even now. The ambition is still far from him. No one can determine that when one would get the dream. Like every studious Bihari, his desire was for Indian Administrative Service.

With proper concentration, a defined strategy and attractive consistency; anyone can aim the dream as toppers say every year. But why does the topper not make out these tips during preparation? They are also in confusion about everything, and the tag gives him way flapping their wings. These are the exaggeration by the media to create a sensation. We should not believe in.

These suggestions for rank apply to expected daily life. But can these stick to the guy like Shan? Initially, the state of Shan was normal as nature that performs its function in ordinary to an extraordinary situation.

In 2-3 years, time reverses, and the situation touches the abnormal. The only source of living in the city has wiped out after his mother’s accident. An addicted brother becomes more addicted, and many friends turn the face away. The dream Stays dream. Now the issue of survival takes priority instead of getting the intent. The question is what Shan Gupta can secure the rank?

Saved money has vanished. Friend circle that motivated initially but now has found the way to demotivate him. Relations have limited to only suggestion. Girlfriend has left away. He is a sole animal in his family and in society with a helpless mother. Can you assume the guy would able to pick up his dream?

The dream is a fountain for many. An optimistic desire to catch the cascade but a realistic unearths the way for a new fountain. Indian administrative service is a fountain. Like Shan, almost all deserving candidates bid their fortune at least once. It is a brutal optimism, but when its culmination ends, realism grows from the grave of it.

So far Shan had understood the chronology, and probably his optimistic zeal has finished, but the ray of hope was still alive on the ground of realism. He had started looking for a private job to survive in the city with his mother. But it was tough to get a piece of work for an unskilled Shan. He looked for a day tonight. He was unable. It is a condition for almost every Bihari student who prepares for government examination, but many of them are not able to obtain it. In result, they have no skills, no link to modernity and no elements of endurance like the knowledge of English, dressing sense, communication skills, behaviour etc. that are required for survival.

They wander one place to another for seeking a job. Presently no one comes forward assisting them. They think these aspirants are over and people began ignoring them. The same Shan was feeling. He has been disregarded, but there was one non-identical point. Many aspirants felt these moments at the end of the final failure, but he joins this group in his phase of transition. He was probably 26 years old.

He has watched the world more extensive than the people he knows. An addicted brother has no life and even no importance for the family. If his mother passes away, no one will care about him. A helpless mother is on the bed, and he now goes for a minimal stipend so that he could live in the city.

At this stage, his friend circle has broken, and the day has packed for earning money. The study hour has reduced to 1-2 hours. The euphoria has become shrunken.

And for the people like Shan, Journey continues. 😥

Chess Travelling

As everyone knows that chess is a classic game of skills and strategies. It is a game of 64-square that is full of mental exercise, thriller, romance and adventure. Marching of pieces towards the opponent’s king contains the deeper analysis, calculations and outcomes of moves to avoid counterplay so that the player would get an advantage in the overall game.

A tale about the origin of chess

Once upon a time, there was a king Shahram, and a wise man in a kingdom. The wise man wanted to convince Shahram of the importance of each resident of his Kingdom. So, he invented a game to represent the kingdom consisting of the king himself, his queen, rooks, bishops, knights, and pawns, all of which were important.
The king liked the game very much and understood that the game was just like real life. So, he ordered everybody in his kingdom to play chess! Shahram offered the man all the gold and silver that he wanted, but the wise man didn’t want any treasure.
Together with the king, he went to a chessboard and asked him to put one grain of wheat on the first square, two on the second and to keep doubling it until the chessboard was full.
First of all, the king felt highly offended, but then he ordered his servants to fulfil the man’s wish. Desperately, the servants conveyed that such an enormous amount of wheat did not exist! The king understood that the wise man had given him a second lesson. Just like the pawns in chess, you should never underestimate the small things in life! (ichess.net)

A Brief History

There are a variety of hypotheses about the history of chess, and there is no specific person who invented this well-known game. It has changed throughout the centuries and will probably keep changing with the times.

As per the website ichess.net, the history of chess can be traced back around 1500 years; started in the north of India and then spread throughout the Asian continent. Chess made its way via the expanding Islamic Arabian Empire to Europe. Its rules had finalised in the 1880s (the romantic era of chess), and the first world chess championship held in 1886. The 20th century revolutionised chess with the invention of databases and chess engines.

     First dogma about its origin

One day, a man called H. J. R. Murray decided to share his discoveries with the world by writing a book named A History of Chess”, in 1913. In his book, Murray assumes that the history of chess started in the North of India, travelled to Persia, and then spread throughout the Asian continent.

In the Eastern World, for example in India or Persia, chess became a part of the courtly education of the nobility. In those days words like “Shāh!” – Persian for the king – or “Shāh Māt!” – the king is helpless – were used in the games. These words are very similar to the terms we use today with “check” and “checkmate”. The rules were already quite similar to the chess rules we know nowadays.

      Second Dogma about the origin

There are not only those who believe chess comes from India, but some people believe that chess was invented in China. The legend says that chess was invented around 200 B.C. by a commander, Hán Xin, who invented the game to represent a particular battle. Soon after the battle, an important battle in Chinese history, the game was forgotten and then resurfaced in the 7th century A.D. with several new rules.

The game became popular under the name “XiangQi” which means the “elephant game”, losing its reference to the ancient battle. The elephant game was very dissimilar to the chess game that we know today. They had other pieces, another board, and even other rules. According to this belief, chess went from China to India and Persia afterwards, where it slowly modified into the chess game we know today with an 8×8 square chessboard and the chess pieces that we are familiar with.

Development of the modern chess game

The romantic era of chess started in the 1880s. The Immortal Game between Anderssen and Kieseritky was famous. Chess slowly gained its competitive character and concrete rules, growing in popularity among the people. Strategically planning or long study of the theory were pretty subordinate topics.

The first chess tournaments started to take place and even the first official World Championship was hosted in 1886 where Wilhelm Steinitz became the first official World Chess Champion.

FIDE: The governing body of the chess

It is the governing body of the sport of chess and it regulates all international chess competitions. It was founded in 1924 in Paris (France), under the motto “Gens Una Sumus” (Latin for “We are one Family”) FIDE is a non-governmental institution, and it was one of the first associations of its kind in the world, alongside the governing bodies of the sports of Football, Cricket, Swimming, and Auto Racing. In 1999, FIDE was recognized by the International Olympic Committee as a Global Sporting Organization.

A similar body in India for regulating the game of Indian chess is the All India Chess Federation (AICF). It is central administrative body founded in 1951, the federation is affiliated to FIDE. The AICF has produced champions Viswanathan Anand, Nihal Sarin, Pentala Harikrishna, Rameshbabu Praggnandhaa and Vidit Gujrathi and many Grandmasters. It organizes many chess completion on several occasions.

World Chess at a glance

Almost 1500 Grandmasters in chess are in the world. This number is only 0.3% of the total chess player. FIDE organized many chess competitions in its registered player. The World Chess Championship is such a competition that is played to determine the world champion in chess. The current world champion is Magnus Carlson of Norway. He has been winning this tournament since 2013. Viswanathan Anand of India had been getting victory from 2007 t0 2013 when Carlson defeated him.

Chess in India

Total 65 Indian chess player has achieved the title of Grandmaster. Many are from south India, especially 36% is from Tamilnadu. Even in North India, this game is highly popular but giving full-time effort is in a penny that symbolises the no title of GM in the north. No one player from Hindi speaking Belt is in the list of GM. Decentralisation of Chess is the need of the hour that would provide equal opportunity and the best competition for the players. In this regard, the government must take steps to popularise this game in modern style, set a ground for training, and organise competitions even in the rural side of the country along with the urban side.

Don’t Acquaint with Dementors

A pack is a pack. No one is ahead of the pack. One of the pack may work as a dementor works. (Pack- group)
Image created by R. Suresh Bhardwaj
The word ‘dementor’ got popularity in the writing of JK Rowling, who is well-known for Harry Potter fantasy.

As per the Harry Potter book series- dementors are among the foulest creatures that walk this earth. They infect the darkest, filthiest places; they glory in decay and despair; they drain peace, hope and happiness out of the air around them.

People in the pack are not able to see these dementors in a real-time, but by the minimal effort, they can feel the presence of dementors.

The pack contains a dog’s age and the careless people in the pack face a dog’s life. Initially, people realise the pack is everything, but it’s not. But, the pack can make people perfect or imperfect. (Dog’s age- In a very long time. Dog’s life- An unhappy existence)

To interact with dementors is an unwanted deed that can thieve people’s peace, hope and happiness by pinching cheerful mood and confident will.

Recognizing dementors

On first day meeting and in a good weather, everyone maintains talking in a civilised manner, but over the time the colour of many begin darkening, and they start to displease the people. Initially people ignore and take it as constructive criticism, but the intension of the dementors is destructive because they promote only sadness, demotivation and things that pull the legs.

People who go against your every idea, embarrass, make mockery and disparage when you learn the modality of the idea. They create dark circumference in which you may feel you are doing wrong. They act as dementor act.

People who are living in a comfort zone. A zone of a settled method of working that requires little effort and yields only barely acceptable results (Oxford Dictionary). People living in this zone prepare themselves as a superior, talented, genius, reputable, speaker and etcetera but these good adjectives exist only in their mind. There is no contact with real life.

In conclusion

Many dementors are in society. They can be recognised easily. The above is frequent. One who doesn’t talk creative, innovative and how to achieve one’s goal falls in this category.

Nilotpal Mrinal: De facto modernus-conservare writer

It is said writers are narcissists. The lines they write are based on their familiarity but they deem these lines are penned for first time. If we go in details, the idealism of the writers starts flaunting.

As everyone knows that the idealism in many fields has no survival, but they hold it as a badge of honour. In its counterpart, realism contains some elements of endurance, but unfortunately, it does not get more attention.

Idealism is extremely dangerous. It follows optimism and tends to destroy everything if we are careless. A similar line is in the novel ‘Dark Horse’ written by Nilotpal Mrinal as readers know, not necessary to mention here. The novel gets many applauds even critics praises, but this novel is about the overrated genre of civil services preparation and struggling of lower-middle-class aspirants.
(Picture from social media)

This blog is not subject of analysing the novel but encloses the makeover of this modernus-conservare writer Nilotpal Mrinal.

Routes ended with a new beginning

Seats are limited, and aspirants are enough so everyone cannot secure rank in the civil services exam. It is a fact. One who is not shortlisted is either less productive guy or highly creative chap. List of failures in the UPSC is not limited. Shankar Devarajan is such a man who successfully ran an institute after collapsing all his attempts. Mrinal is another. He may be a big inspiration for lower-middle-class candidates, especially who is from Hindi speaking belt.

Mrinal is not a sole survivor artistic man, but he has been gained popularity even after not achieving his primary goal. In many interviews and talks, he mocked the UPSC preparation and said that I was a Hockey player but I used to play Cricket. I needed a hockey stick and I could find it after final attempt failing.

Anyone can easily predict that it was only a justification of failing and the guy has a long way to go for getting a mature way of speaking. The writer will have to fix the UPSC delusion out and renovate the idea ‘I am everything’ of preparation time. The time of UPSC has gone far away and the writer should get rid of it otherwise it always happens that grapes are sour.

Being failed in competitive exam is not a blot, it is a way of growing and the writer finely improved his writing skills and language ability to express his feeling that triggered writing a book which got Sahitya Academy Youth Award. It opened a new way for him.

His first novel I read: No scope of literary creativity

2-3 years ago, I had heard his poetry named ‘Bachapan’ randomly in YouTube that was shot in a UPSC friendly room. It was fabulous composing that struck me and forced the dormant string of my heart to live and hooked up the rope between the gaps of ages.

I looked for him on Google and found another marvellous composing- ‘Dunia Aisi Hua Karti Thi’. It hit me again and forced to realize that the writer has a good comprehension of Indian conservatism and he will promote these values.

During R&D, I got a little information about the ‘Dark Horse’ and purchased it. When I stood up from my reading table most of the pages I had read in a single sitting. I concluded that it is true for civil services aspirants that are mentioned, but the book is away from literature. Even after I can appreciate his efforts because many failed aspirants get ruined but he survived. If you want to go in detail you can read it on your choice. This novel is of different genre and discrete writing style-New Type Hindi.

Becoming patrons of Gamacha, but is it good in modern society?

As per The print report, After Delhi restaurant refused to allow him in with Gamacha, he started Gamacha revolution based on that it was discrimination. A social media campaign followed and Gamacha was trending soon.

Many from UP and Bihar supported the campaign and people started posting images sporting Gamachas. On next day, AAP leader Dilip Pandey visited the same restaurant carrying a Gamacha. Popular singer Deepak Thakur also shared images with Gamacha.

It was a new form of identity exaggeration but not new for the UPSC aspirant turned writer Mrinal, who is being always favoured wearing Gamacha. In many shows, talks, interviews and random wandering, Gamacha prevails on all his clothes. It is not a stereotype but reflects the image of doing something new in this globalised society.

This is India and there are many streams of living, ideas, religions and identities here. Anyone who propagates any type of design can get espousal. Wearing Gamacha is one of them. Nothing is impossible for Neck-down invisible community and everything can trend on social media. Trending has become a fashion now.

Mrinal: De facto modernus-conservare writer

As you know Dark Horse is based on the real-life experiences of students who live in Mukherjee Nagar and prepare for UPSC exams that is why this novel catches the attention of these aspirants especially who is from Hindi speaking belt. It is a major drawback of the writer that he has still to come out of these experiences.

So the novel is liked well and is being still enjoyed by these aspirants. This book and its author get recognizance in this highly over-obsessed section. It is not awful because every writer sets its target audience and with time he unfolds hidden arts.

On many occasions, he mocked the UPSC preparation but he should take in; it was the UPSC preparation that gave him the nerve to write a book. It was not possible if he did not prepare this exam or cleared it, he would not be here where he is. Preparing exam is a catalyst; getting (un)success is another matter, that gives a way of decoupage one’s life.

He fancies recuperating the ancient values, identity and culture of Bihar and UP in this modernized society. How much he is succeeding History will attest to.

In conclusion

His wearing style of Gamacha, speaking Hindi, the novel and the composed poetry comprise of the age-old Indian way of life that confirm his conservative modes but at the same time, he supports women’s right, SC&ST’s empowerment and modern liberal ideas like faith in individual liberty, democracy, rights and universal dogmas of citizenship, secularism and promoting scientific temper.

All the above are enough to institute him in the genre of this writing. India is in the period of transition where villages are dangling between the modernism and the conservatism. So the writers like Mrinal store these canons because their preliminary value built before the watershed year of 2000 and the late value building has been getting influences of modern ages after 2000 with the coming of the information technology, smartphones and easy access of new-age creed.
